The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

Artist's Description
Kachina, a Quarter Horse/Arabian mix, gallops along the beach at Half Moon Bay (just south of San Francisco). Pink fluffy clouds and seagulls drift through the sunset in shades of yellow, orange, pink, blue and purple, reflected in the water. This Northern California ocean seascape is an original oil painting on a gallery-wrapped stretched canvas (the 3/4" staple-free sides are finished off in blue acrylic)--no need to frame. If you would like the canvas fitted with picture wire, let me know at the time of purchase (no additional charge). The piece can be hung as is on one or two parallel nails but some people prefer hanging wire if the piece is going to be hung unframed.

I have been painting most of my life. Much of my inspiration comes from the beautiful natural landscape of the wst coast...the woods, the ocean, the rolling hills, the native wildflowers and wildlife. Even the surreal tree branches in the Zen series are often taken from the gnarled old oak trees I see on my walks. Other inspirations include teapots (I love tea) and animals, especially cats.
