Proposal Rock At Neskowin Beach. Most people begin at the Neskowin Beach State Recreation Site, a parking area with a trail following Neskowin Creek as it glides through the sand and down onto the beach. Once you're on the beach, Proposal Rock is impossible to miss. A 2,000-year-old drowned or "ghost" forest, one of several along the Oregon Coast. It is generally accepted that these trees found themselves in the ocean as a result of sudden subduction caused by an earthquake.
